The team at A View From The Hill were delighted to win a national award this week in London at the NCWE awards, at the Merchant Tailors Hall.
Organised by Graduate Prospects, AVFTH won against stiff competition from the likes of John Lewis and East Coast Main Line to win the Work Placement of the Year award, as nominated by Leeds University.
The placement started in July last year, with Anjelica and Victoria from the University, Victoria as many of you know, has continued with her position here at A View From The Hill.
A real coup for a new organisation. We are delighted!
Here’s a picture of Keith Madeley, NED, and Ed with the award:
Hello! My name’s Georgie and I started my work experience here at Biskit/AVFTH on Monday, I’m 17 and go to St Peter’s School in York where I study Economics, Maths, History, English and French AS levels.
I’ve done loads of really interesting stuff; on the Monday I was in the office with Suzanne looking at what she did on the creative side of marketing and did some research of my own.
On the Wednesday I went with Ed to a social media workshop where I learnt how to use social media effectively to market a product or service. I hope to take this back to my school and use it to help my Young Enterprise team, Kaleidoscope.
Next was a Survive to Thrive AVFTH event on Thursday. For me this was one of the most interesting things I could’ve done. My personal highlight of the event was the workshop on “The Balancing Act-Profit V Social Benefit” with Simon Biltcliff because it was not just interesting but funny and I really got a sense of what his business was about, I thought it seemed like a really nice environment to work in.
Finally on my last day I was back in the office again and I got to write a press release about the Survive to Thrive event with Victoria which I hope will be alright for AVFTH to use because the event seemed to be really useful to the organisations there.
In the future I’d quite like to study economics and politics (maybe even PPE) or history at university and then I hope to be able to have a job where I can incorporate all I have learned over my week of work experience. I really want my Young Enterprise team to listen to all the ideas I got from my week and use them as I know it will be useful.
Overall I had a really great time on my work experience and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Biskit for having me and giving me a really great experience.
